Dr. Mangi Lal Jat is appointed to the position of Director-General (DG) of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), based in New Delhi, for a period of three years. This prestigious appointment, approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, places Dr. Jat at the helm of India’s apex agricultural research body for a period of three years. He succeeds Dr. Himanshu Pathak who has recently taken charge as the Director General of the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT). He will be the new Director General of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and Secretary, Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), Government of India for next three years.
